I burned a CD using iTunes about a month ago, and when I played it back, it sounded like crap. I haven't had a chance to burn any more CDs, but a friend just sent me five CDs she burned using iTunes, and they all sound like crap, too - irregular scratchy static, random pauses that last a couple of seconds. It's not the CD player, because I've played the discs in three different players that play other discs with no problems, with the same crappy sound quality.

Is this a problem that's endemic to iTunes? (I'm running the latest 8.whatever version on a Windows XP machine, and my friend has a two-year-old Mac, so I doubt it's a PC-only problem.) Or am I just having a weird streak of bad luck with this?
